Queenie

2005- December 2009

Queenie was one of the friendlier cats that came to dinner in our back yard.  Then one day she brought her 2 kittens to our yard, so I grabbed up her kittens (Penn and Jedd) and she followed.

I had to have her tail amputated, because the tip of her spine was broken and her tail hung down, and blocked the way for kitty litter visits.  I'm not sure whether she was hit by a car or that I caused the injury in the scuffle to get her in the cage with her kittens, but she is doing fine now, and has all her cat-like attributes.  And she turned out to be a real sweetheart.  Occasionally she needs to be bath because of her lack of feeling in her.... well.... tail area.

Queenie insisted on being an indoor/outdoor cat.  Unfortunately, one day she came home from one of her "romps-around-town" and acted like she was sick.  The following morning she was dead.  I'll never know what happened to her, but I will make sure all my cats are strictly indoor cats now.

I think she was toilet trained, because I caught her in this position a couple of times.
